🎈 TapaType Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
What TapaType is
TapaType (tapatype.com) is a free typing and early-learning game for children. It runs entirely in your web browser or as an installed web app.
Information we collect
None. TapaType has no server-side accounts, no sign-up, no forms that send data anywhere, and no third-party services of any kind.
Information stored on your device only
To make the game work, TapaType saves a small amount of data in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- Player profiles you create (a first name or nickname, a chosen animal emoji, stars earned, stickers collected, daily streak)
- Optional family words a grown-up types in for the Words game
- Game settings (chosen voice, letter case preference)
- Practice statistics (which keys were mistyped, to power the Tricky Keys game)
This data never leaves the device. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it permanently.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
- No cookies
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising, ever
- No third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers — the game is fully self-hosted
Offline use
TapaType uses a service worker to cache the game files on your device so it works offline. This cache contains only the game itself (code, images, and voice audio), never personal data.
Children's privacy
TapaType is designed for children and is built to the strictest reading of children's privacy laws (including COPPA and GDPR-K): the simplest way to protect children's data is to never collect any, so that is what we do.
Changes to this policy
If TapaType ever changes how it works, this page will be updated first, and the "last updated" date above will change.
